Included is the location of all key items and special equipment, a list of the bosses and how to defeat them (still working on Incubus and the Final Boss but they will be added shortly), an analysis of each character, a list of all the spells and when each character learns them, and a list of all the equipment in the game and who can use it. Hope you enjoy!

I posted an item guide at GameFAQs. There's no guarantee that they'll put it up. In the meanwhile, I'm going to make a few posts summarizing where to find certain items. These
posts will answer most of the questions that have been asked in this forum.

THE GEMS (with item numbers):

22 Red Gem: Chest in cave between Howard Castle and Aka Village.

23 Green Gem: Chest southwest of Malcus Town.

24 Blue Gem: Chest in basement of Port Town.

25 Black Gem: Chest in Hidden Cave south of Aka Village.

26 White Gem: One-square island in the center of Ocean. The fastest way to reach it is to teleport to Port Town, walk north to your ship, sail east a few squares so that your boat is north of the (silver) mountain range, and then sail
due north.

27 Purple Gem: Take the path winding southwest and around, from Louis Town to dark green patch in the group of trees and search.

28 Yellow Gem: Chest in the same cave as Gold Key, Cell Key needed.

PEARLS (with item numbers):

29 Oyster Pearl: In Mizuri Town, patch of grass in woods in NE part of Town.

30 Black Pearl: A one-square island surrounded by reefs. The easiest way to get there is to teleport to Hamilton Castle, walk south to your ship, and sail east until you see
the reef-maze. The entrance is at the northwest.

31 White Pearl: Hamilton Castle chest.

32 Poppy Pearl: Tower south of Colma city (where Cell Key is).

33 Mabe Pearl: Last Cave.

THE WORLD MAP, SHIP, and GOLD KEY

MAP: you must first talk to the man in Mizuri Town, then talk to the man in Malcus Town, then go kill the dragon in the cave near Malcus, then return to the man in Malcus Town.

SHIP: Talk to everybody in Port Town (get Companion Letter), take it to soldier in green armour in the Aluminum Cave south of Mizuri Town to get the Pickaxe, go through Lost Woods south of Aka Village to Hidden Cave, get the Panacea from chest, talk to woman in Port Town, teleport to Port Town (this clears the timer), talk to man by gold door, teleport to Port Town, talk to man by gold door.



Gold Key: Go up the river starting at the far south of the southwest continent (Teleport to Hamilton Castle and sail west) until you get the message about the current being too strong. Now go to the Village of Solitude (island at
far east of map) and talk to man in closed building, who will upgrade your boat. Now teleport to Hamilton or Colma and sail back up the river to the cave. The key is in the chest.

THE BOMBS AND THE THREE DRAGONS GUARDING THE MATERIALS:

FIRST BOMB: You need plastic, a fuse, and gunpowder.

BLUE DRAGON (gunpowder): In the tower east of Moris Town.

GREEN DRAGON (plastic 1): Teleport to the Village of Solitude and sail due west until you reach land. Head south a bit and take the river up to the cave. The puzzle solution for the five holes is NE - Center - SW - NW - SE.

RED DRAGON (fuse): Teleport to Moris Town and leave SW for the portal and to your ship. Now sail due west until you reach land. To the south is a river. Sail due south until you reach the cave.

When you have those materials, take them to the man in Moris town. Teleport to Moris Town (clears the timer) and go back in and talk to the man to get your bomb.

SECOND BOMB: You'll need more plastic. To get it, talk to the man in the Moris Town jail and get the Secret Letter. Now teleport to Calendora Town, and talk to the man in jail there to get the Plastic. Now teleport back to Moris Town, talk to the man, teleport to Moris Town, and talk to the man again to get your second bomb.

THE KEYS, HOW TO UPGRADE THE SHIP, AND THE TRUTH STONE

SILVER: It's in the cave between Howard Castle (the starting point of the game) and Aka Village. You'll need it to proceed, so level up and get equipment from Howard before going in.

GOLD: Teleport to Hamilton Castle and sail west. Sail up the river. At the fork, take a right (although there's a nice chest up the left fork), down, and up again, until you reach a "current is too strong" message. You MUST do that before the man will upgrade your ship. Now teleport to the Village of Solitude and talk to the man. He'll upgrade your ship. Now teleport back to Hamilton Castle and sail back up that river to the cave. The key is in a chest.

Remember this location, because the Hero Shield and Yellow Gem are also in this cave, but you'll need the cell key to get to them.

CELL KEY: Take your bomb to Colma City and talk to the man there. Then sail down the river to the Tower and go in. You'll need the Truth Stone for the endless staircase inside.

TRUTH STONE: Teleport to Raiton Castle. From a square south of the old man in the NE part of town, walk 7 steps south and 3 west, then search for a hidden staircase. As a side note, the directions for that are given to you at the Romario Shrine, although you don't need to speak to the sage at the shrine to use the directions.

DIRECTIONS IN THE LOST WOODS AND BONUS CAVE:

In the Lost Woods, when you're trying to get to the Hidden Cave (for the Panacea/Miracle-Cure), the directions are: E-S-E-S-E-W-S-N-S.

In the Bonus Cave, to get to the hidden platform where the Excalibur and Miracle Armor are, the directions are, from the single square that juts out east of the others:

E-N-E-E-S-S-E-E-N-E-E

To get back, from the square that juts out west from the others on the hidden platform:

W-W-S-W-W-N-N-W-W-S-W

UNIQUE ITEMS:
This includes items not covered in the previous few posts.

Warrior/Ninja EQUIPMENT
Excaliber: On hidden platform of Bonus Cave.
Mircale Armor: On hidden platform of Bonus Cave (also Samurai).
I made a mistake in an earlier post. Excaliber can be equipped by both the Warrior and Ninja. Samurais can't equip it, though.

HERO EQUIPMENT:
Hero Sword: Cave leading to Last Town, guarded by snake.
Hero Armor: Last Cave
Hero Helm: Howard Castle, need Cell Key
Hero Shield: In same cave as Gold Key, need Cell Key.

NINJA-SAMURAI EQUIPMENT:
Masamune: Last Cave
Tokugawa Armor: Last Cave

MAGIC USER EQUIPMENT:
Dagger of Light: Last Cave
Miracle Robe: Chest in Last Town.
Ruby Shield: Woman in Elisa Town (7 gems)
Ruby Helmet: Woman in Calandora Town (5 pearls)
