RINGS:
Flame Ring: Cave of Green Dragon
Ice Ring: Cave of Red Dragon
Strong Ring: Last Cave
Safeguard Ring: Last Town

The elemental rings are a bit better than generic Ring of Protection and offer about 25% more resistance to attacks in their respective elements.

LETTERS:
Companion Letter: Man in Port Town
Secret Letter: Man in Miros Town

Pickaxe: see post 425 regarding getting the ship
Panacea: see post 425 regarding getting the ship

If I missed anything, let me know.

Just wanted to say thanks to both Alex, and Tom for taking time out to make proper guides. Both are fantastic. Really appreciate all the efforts.

TIPS ABOUT THE GAME:

CHARACTERS (and these are just my recommendations, not absolutes):

Warrior: This is a good "tank" character, but its low agility means that it will usually act after the stronger enemies

Magic Swordsman: This character does a bit of everything, but doesn't do any of it well. I don't recommend using any.

Samurai: A versatile attacker with high agility. Recommended.

Monk: This or a Sage is vital to winning the game. Against the bosses, "Bless Barrier" is essential, as are Revive All Heal All, and all are exclusive to the Monk or Sage.

Magician: While it's nice to have the attack-all-enemies capability, attack magic gets less and less effective as the monsters get tougher. I don't recommend using one.

Ninja: These guys are the strongest and fastest fighters in the game. They and the Warrior are the only characters that can equip Excalibur.

Sage: This character can use all of the magic offered in the game. However, the Sage's offensive magic is fairly useless late in the game, and the only usable late-game spell that a Sage has and a Monk doesn't is "Wilt".

Since there is only one good set of unique equipment for a Magic user (Miracle Robe, Ruby Helmet, Ruby Shield), a second magic user is going to be at a disadvantage against the bosses.

For the above reasons, I recommend a team of Ninja, Samurai, Samurai, Monk for the late stages of the game.

LEVELING (Grinding) FARMING and GOLD FARMING:

The key to leveling late in the game are the Silver Bells. You can find these in the Cave near Malcus, but your characters won't hit them very often at that stage of the game. Fighters generally don't start hitting Silver Bells with any regularity until about Level 31-33.

Levels 1-32: I recommend a team of a Ninja and four Samurais. Be sure to carry a full bag of Herbs to heal with between battles. The best way to level is to simply fight wherever you are until you have as strong of equipment as is available, up to Magic equipment (armor, aegis, hat). After that, don't upgrade your armor, except for uniques, until you reach Final City (it isn't needed).

Levels 32-40. Go to Howard Castle and change the last Samurai to a Monk (which can wear the Magic armors, but the Monk will need a weapon). Now sail your ship to the islands north of the castle. Have your Monk/Sage cast Amor and feast on Silver Bells until you reach Level 40.

Level 40-48: Finish what you need to do to get to Final City, fetching all the unique equipment along the way. Then go into the final cave and get the unique equipment there. Outfit your party (the magic user should get the ruby helmet and shield) and fill in the missing spaces with Diamond equipment. You will save a lot of time and effort doing it this way.

GameFAQs rejected my item list for whatever reason they saw fit. Therefore, this is the only place that I will personally put any information about the game.

Alex: free free to use anything I've posted in your walkthrough/FAQ.

How do I get through the hallway at the double shrine on the north island with the tower?
437. Tom Barrister Feb. 21. 2012 06:52
Gupus, as the sage in the shrine will tell you, the Gold Key is needed to get through the gate. Look back a few posts for instructions on how to get the Gold Key.

ADMIN: Suggestions for Gailardia 3 (and 2 and 1)

A) Multiple Save states.

B) An option to save the last battle command. In other words, if Guile's last command was Quake, every "enter" touch will automatically select the menu commands to get to that selection. This makes "grinding"/leveling easier for those who want to stay around a city and cast the same spell every time enemies are encountered.

Thanks for all the help you've provided here, Tom. Your suggestions have been forwarded to the developer, although they probably won't be implemented in Gailardia 3 since we've almost wrapped up that project.

By the way, I heard from the developer that the English version of Gailardia 3 is slated for release next month. We had hoped for February, but we want to put out the best games we can and that's what we're working on now.
