Anyone hints on the Hero Sword? I think it's in a shrine, but I must have missed it...

And whatever pearl is #38 on the Item Encyclopedia...
59. David Mar. 22. 2012 05:34
Ok, since I'm listing items:

I'm missing #23, and 24. I'm assuming one of those is Quetzcoatal's tail, not sure about the other one...

38: One of the pearls?
60: Hero Sword?
62: Excalibur? (assuming it's in the bonus cave)
79: Miracle Armor? (also in bonus cave?)
90: Maybe some sort of Ninja shield?
100: Maybe some sort of Ninja Helm

I'm also missing one Advanced Work Permit. I found 2 before I got to Romario and one in the cave from Romario to Despair. Any clues for the last one?

Thanks Tom. I'll take a crack at it tomorrow. How about that button I pushed in a cave near where Kata is supposed to be? It made a sound far away but I never figured out what it was.

Check the first cave by Raiton. It had a statue and a path that used to be blocked by a hole.

Sorry, I meant the cave by Colma City where the Silver Key was, not Raiton.

You need to explore. Being fed all of the answers will make the game too easy and detract from its enjoyment.

Everything is in plain sight. Even the one-square island has a dot on the World Map. Circle each continent, go down all rivers and forks thereof. Use the "left-hand-on-wall" approach to exploring dungeons, towers, and caves. It will lead you to every corner of each.

Talk to people and take notes. Almost everything that needs to be done has some reference as to what to do. I'll cover some of the exceptions in another post.

This isn't a hard game to play. There are only two or three sticking points that I didn't find a reference to and had to use some logic and/or trial and error to find. I'll cover those in another post.

When you talk to the ship-builder in Callendora, you need to speak to him twice to get the Passport to go to Port Town.

I didn't find a reference to the bomb's location. It's under guard in Morys. You will need the Secret Letter to get past the guard. A Sage in a Shrine east off the long winding river that you enter from the south of the southwest continent has the letter.

I didn't find any directions to the endless-room in the cave southeast of Howard. The directions when you enter the room north of the stairs is: West, East, West, around to the top and East, then the rightmost/eastmost North.

When you press the button at the far end of the island cave all the way down the long winding river gotten to from the south end of the southwest continent, the passage in the cave east of Colma will open so you can continue to the stairs.

Items 23, 24, 62, 79, 90, and 100 are all found in the bonus cave after you've defeated the Demon Lord. The ending credits will tell you where that is.

David:

38: the Poppy Pearl is in the chest in the basement of Howard Castle. You need the Utility Hook to get to it.

60: Hero Sword is in the same place: the basement of Howard Castle.

The Hero Shield is in the tower southeast of Mizuri; it also requires the Utility Hook.

The hook is gotten in the cave east of Despair.

The last Adv. Work Permit is the reward for your 7 pearls from the lady in Elisa.
