Wherever you teleport to, the boat teleports as well and will be in the area you tele to.

Reese, go to colma city. Go on the boat, get on the island across the river from colma city, travel south east until you come across a tower that has the shield.

Hi Apox,
I believe you are on the illusionary pathway, which will need the use of the Truth Stone to get pass that area.
The Truth Stone can be found in the grave yard of Madagus Town. (Search the ride side of the upper right gravestone)
